Neil, who makes PrivRead, reads every message. It helps to say which iPhone you have, its iOS version, and PrivRead’s version (Settings › About › Version). Please don’t attach a document unless you’re happy for us to see it.

What can PrivRead read?
PDF, EPUB, Word (.docx), web pages and plain text files from Files; web pages shared from Safari; paper pages you scan with the camera; photos of pages; and text you paste. PrivRead is made for English documents.
Something I shared isn’t in my library
Open PrivRead: things you share wait there until you do. If PrivRead said “Unlock this iPhone first”, unlock your iPhone and share it again. If your free imports are used up, it waits in PrivRead until you buy the one-off unlock.
How do free imports work?
You can add 2 documents each way (files, scans, photos, paste and sharing) for free, with every feature, including the natural voice where your iPhone can run it. After that, one purchase, Unlock PrivRead in Settings, lets you add as many as you like: no subscription and no account. Family Sharing is included.
I bought PrivRead’s unlock, but it’s asking me again
Check that your iPhone is signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account you bought it with, then tap Restore purchase in Settings or on the Unlock PrivRead screen. If someone in your Family Sharing group bought it, Restore purchase brings it to your iPhone too.
Why can’t I use the natural voice?
Settings › Natural voice says why. It needs a recent iPhone and a version of iOS it has been tested on, and if it has problems PrivRead switches to Apple’s voices and offers Try the natural voice again. Whatever your iPhone, PrivRead can read with Apple’s voices.
How do I change the voice or the speed?
Choose a voice in Settings › Voice. Choose a speed, from 0.5× to 4×, in the player while a document is open.
How do I delete my documents?
To delete one, swipe it in your library. To delete them all, use Delete everything in Settings › What PrivRead keeps, which asks first and says what goes. If you want a copy, use Export everything on the same screen before you delete.
