Easy to read, easy to hear
A natural-sounding voice is built into the app for English documents, so nothing is downloaded. On iPhones that can’t run it, PrivRead uses the Apple voices on your iPhone.
Set in Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed so similar letters can’t be confused. Works with larger text sizes, VoiceOver, and light and dark mode.

What can PrivRead read?
English documents: PDF, EPUB, Word, web pages and plain text, plus scans and photos of printed pages.
Do I need an account?
No. There’s nothing to sign up for.
Which iPhones does it work on?
Any iPhone with iOS 18 or later. Whether your iPhone has the natural voice is shown in Settings › Natural voice.
I’ve got a new iPhone. Do I pay again?
No. Sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore purchase in Settings. It works for your Family Sharing group too.
How do I delete my documents?
Swipe one in your library to delete it, or delete them all with Delete everything in Settings › What PrivRead keeps.
